Nevada Wind Company is owned by Carlson & Associates and Sunfire, LLC.  Nevada Wind maintains offices in Reno, Incline Village and Las Vegas, Nevada.
 

Tim Carslon - managing partner

Tim Carlson, managing partner, works with developers and community leaders to promote Nevada as a location for new business startups and expansions. As a recognized leader in alternative energy, he negotiates power purchase agreements for renewable energy companies and has actively encouraged legislation to create incentives for clean energy projects. In 2002 Tim was appointed by Governor Miller to the Legislature’s Renewable Energy Task Force as a representative for the wind industry. In addition, Carlson works with energy companies to develop and construct projects throughout the western United States.  
 
With more than 30 years of government and business development experience, Mr. Carlson's career includes seven years as president and CEO of NTS Development Corporation, a non-profit business development group organized and supported by the United States Department of Energy. Mr. Carlson was executive director of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, a cabinet level position, where he served on several energy-related projects such as the Solar Energy Task Force. He was also Executive Director of the Nevada Development Authority where he spearheaded the legislation necessary for the credit card industry to bring over 15 separate operations, i.e.: City Bank, Ford Credit, Household Finance, etc., into the State. This resulted in an employee impact of creating over 50,000 jobs. He is a graduate of Utah State University with a B.S. degree in Public & Business Administration.  He has been appointed to various board and commission by Nevada’s past six Governors’.
 
John Johanson - managing partner
 
During the past twenty-five years John Johansen has served in various capacities throughout the wind industry and during the past fifteen years as President of several successful wind development companies. He was the President of the American Wind Energy Association for the years of 03-04 and served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors several years before and after his term as president.
 
He is also President of SunFire Wind; Inc. SunFire consists of a group of employees devoted to wind project development.  The goal of SunFire is to deliver a project within the completion deadline schedules, and within budget. John has managed over twenty projects; developed projects using in excess of 1,936 turbines; and managed projects totaling in excess of $500 million. In addition, He has managed a joint venture project of 2,200 turbines. He managed and originated the 230 kV transmission line privately built through Los Angeles County carrying 310 MW of wind energy.
 
Prior to joining SunFire he was President of: Global Renewable Energy Partners owned by NEG Micon, the third largest manufacturer of wind turbines, of SeaWest Power, and M&N Wind Power, Inc. He is also involved in wind on the international level.  Having partnered with Henderson in Hong Kong on a wind project in China and Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI) in New Delhi, India on wind projects and study proposals. In addition, he was President of Photon Energy, which was involved with the development of a thin film cadmium telluride photovoltaic module.  He sold Photon Energy to the Adolph Coors Company in 1992.
 
Mr. Johansen has a Master of Science in Resource, Policy and Management from the University of Michigan; a Bachelor of Arts in Economics; and a year of graduate work in the Masters of Business Administration Program at the University of Michigan.
